A couple days earlier…
Mike groaned as he heard his Sunday alarms go off. Seven AM was way too early to be waking up on the weekend. As the dancer literally rolled off of his bed and on to the floor, he tried to remember why he had set it so early. Mike picked himself up off the ground and shuffled over to his computer. The moment he sat down, he instantly remembered what had happened the previous evening. He had started talking to the new girl, Samara, and they had planned on spending the day at the markets in Dayton. It had been a while since Mike had made a new friend. Not many newcomers come to Lima, Ohio. The influx of new students was bound to make the gossipers heads explode.
Not that he cared about that drama, anyway. That wasn’t the point of today. Today was all about fun and getting some badass, new stuff! He smiled at the thought, and quickly got dressed. He put on some of his dark blue jeans, and grabbed his favorite blue plaid shirt out of the closet. He was definitely feeling the color blue right now. Mike slipped on his blue converse, and grabbed his wallet and keys from his desk. He didn’t want to be late to the meet up.
His drive to the Lima Bean was fairly short. He practically bounced out of the car and through the door to the coffee shop. What? He was allowed to be excited about hanging with someone new. It didn’t also hurt that she was kinda sorta gorgeous and stuff. He quickly shrugged off any of those thoughts. He still loved Tina. They were going through some stuff, but they’d make it in the end. Mike sighed and got in line, ordering a simple coffee with two creams and a donut. He found a table with a seat facing the door. He didn’t want to miss Samara walking in. This day was going to be great, Mike just knew it.
She was flying over the trees in her own magical world. She was happy, except for this unending beeping. She couldn’t figure out where it was coming from… Samara awoke with a start.”Only a dream…” She mumbled to herself, as she smacked off her alarm. 6 am. It was so early, she halfway considered texting Mike and postponing, but didn’t because she really was excited to go to Dayton again. She loved it there, so much to do and see. Besides, how could she turn down shopping. So she dragged herself into the shower, despite her sleepy eyes.
Getting out, she decided to be cute, but functional. After all, they were going to be out all day. Slipping on a pair of jean shorts, beaded flats, and a white Panic! at the Disco shirt, she gave herself a once over. At the last second she decided to whip her hair into a couple braids. She looked cute, very cute. She looked down at her watch and realized it was time to go, the last thing she wanted was to be late. So she grabbed her keys and headed out the door.
As she pulled up to the Lima Bean, she noticed some nerves she didn’t understand. Not thinking much of it, she brushed it off, assuming it was because she had never really gotten to spend time with this new guy. There was no way it had anything to do with how cute he was. As she opened the door, she stepped inside, a slight breeze blowing around her, and looked around with a smile. Even this early, this place was jammed. She didn’t notice Mike at first, so she went straight for the coffee bar. Settling on a bagel with cream cheese and a caramel macchiato, she patiently stood and waited for her drink. ‘This is going to be a wonderful day’ she thought to herself.
Mike almost spit out his coffee. He could only gawk as he watched the most beautiful blonde in the universe stroll into...
